Bible Teaching – Soteriology (Salvation)
From this passage we learn 1) How we cannot be saved, 2) How we can be saved, and 3) How we can help others to be saved. But even though these are basic truths, don’t assume you already understand them correctly. There’s a lot of misunderstanding, so let’s go back and take a course in Salvation 101 to make sure we get it right. It’s a matter of life and death, with eternity on the line.
After 11 chapters of explaining God’s grace to us in Christ, Paul talks about what our practical response should be to that amazing grace. In Romans 12:1-8 we learn about the responses of commitment, transformation, humility, and service.
Do you realize that the two most important events in the history of your salvation occurred long before you were born? And in the case of the first one, even before the world was created! In Ephesians 1:3-6, the apostle Paul pulls open the curtain of the mysteries of God’s eternal plan so we can see why we should live “to the praise of the glory of his grace.”

The Lord Jesus Christ redeemed his people by dying on the cross 2000 years ago, and that is the basis for everything in our salvation. But what does redemption really mean? And was he merely trying to save people when he died or did he actually secure our salvation? How can you have assurance that you will be in heaven one day when you die?
